A basic knowledge bomb for those of you interested in the what and why of our programming structure at SCCF. As a competitive swimmer we implemented Quadrennial periodization to rotate around Olympic years and offered me lots of exposure to programming and periodization. At SCCF we use a basic linear model for Level 1 athletes, mostly geared towards absolute strength development and building an aerobic base. Level 2 and our Competition Team employ a block periodization macrocycle with varied focus through the CF season. Up next, squat centric continued strength development and gymnastics volume.
