A belated Happy Thanksgiving to all friends and Family! We spent the holiday in Half Moon Bay, with some very special friends! It has been 11 months since my boat was in the water. A tough time for sure, pinching pennies, and doing work a little at a time, to get it back......... but it is running again, and just needs a bit more tweaking to be 100%. Brian and I set our crab gear, while everyone else is pulling theirs. A couple of pulls of ours and Tajs gear (never got through ours) yielded 70+ crabs. We baited both strings heavy, and I suspect that if they dont get run this week, there will be some heavy pots next weekend! The coolest thing this weekend, was getting Autumn out on the ocean for the first time! We had a crappy South swell mixing the water up like a washing machine, and she loved every minute of it! She was laughing at a couple of pukers we had too! Then she bugged me to go fishing, so we dumped the pukers off, and went back out in even worse conditions........ found a good ball of bait and dropped in a sabiki rig...... in seconds, she had 6 good mackerel on, and was hooked! We made a couple of runs, and she loaded the better part of a 5 gal. bucket with good crab bait for next week! A great weekend for sure!
