A belated happy birthday to the great Sam Phillips, Sun Records Owner & Producer and native of Muscle Shoals area, who would have been 92 yesterday. Sam is featured in this clip from an excellent Howlin Wolf documentary, right around the 11:50 mark. Sun records recorded some of the finest Post-War Blues of the 1950s and the stuff that Sam recorded with Howlin Wolf is some of my favorite Blues as Wolf is my favorite Blues singer. Imagine that.
