A big part of being an independent filmmaker is networking and we have met (and in many cases collaborated) with some fantastic local filmmakers and companies who are also striving to build what is quickly becoming a thriving film industry in Yorkshire. We wanted to mention a few of them we think you should check out! RO Pictures are a production company based in York and have produced some great short films with local talent and are not limited to any particular genre, having produced horror, comedy and drama. I had the privilege of serving as 1st Assistant Director on their recent horror short film The Door, a horror film with a bit of a Lovecraftian edge to it. We have since collaborated with them on a number of film productions under Glass Cannon and our collaboration continues on The Dark Below.
