A bit of a story here: I took this photo when I was still a co-pilot, from the front right seat of a Huey. We were bringing these guys out of the field for a few days rest at the 198th stand-down area. I think this was a unit from the 4/46th of the 198th LIB, Americal Division. The Army Aviation crest says Above the Best. I we were told in flight school that we flew above the best and that the Infantry WAS the best. I always felt that my sole purpose in being there was to support these guys. My Father was a 1st Sgt of the Infantry and was on the DMZ in Korea while I was in Vietnam. My older brother had just completed two tours in Nam with the Air Force. One uncle and a cousin were in-country with me. My cousin, Dave Harris was a Grunt with the 198th and got a job in the rear at the 198th stand-down area, just up from our company area. He flew with me quite a lot as my door gunner later on after I made AC. In my extended family we did 7 years in Vietnam and all of us made it home. Just thought that this might fit in here OK.
