A break down is a break through. This time last week I was in theatre having a plate and stews inserted in my leg and my broken leg has been the best break through on my life. I came home Tuesday and didnt leave my room til Friday. Meanwhile family and friends rallied and this morning I sit in a house that has been cleaned from top to bottom, broken furniture repaired, antiques restored and the whole place decluttered. The amazing thing I never left the bed. I take this opportunity to thank those who are on Facebook, Kim and Aggie aka Jo Murphyprice and her friend Mary (who also collected me from the hospital) Trish Doherty who did the school run and made hot meals and brought them to me in bed, Patricia Coughlan Hand and her husband Kevin (if you ever want a man who can fix, repair and do everything hes your man). Thanks to my Boss and dear friend Eileen Alford who sat by my bedside on St Patricks night when she could have being doing much better things than listening to me rant and rave about the inadequacy in the Irish Education System. Thanks to my dear colleague and comforter Luke Dempsey who never fails to cheer me up with his quick wit and bring me gently back into balance when Im heading off the rails. Thanks to Kate Farrell who has been a most loyal friend who has carried me through worse crises than this long before Facebook was invented. Thanks to my cousin Lily Mullen. She is simply the best.I thank all my friends on Facebook who sent me good wishes. They really mean so much and showed me the amazing power of the internet. Thanks to Edna Donlon Smith Owen Smith Kirsten Smith Nadine and Hughie Smith who collected Paddy for Joe Callaghan Seisiun last night and have him on a sleep over. Finally thanks to the one and only Rosie Byrne Doherty and Laura Doherty who drove Paddy to Galway yesterday for his new Clareen Banjo I hope to have a mass of thanksgiving shortly in my spotless house for all of your intentions. May God reward all of you for your loving kindness. If I left anyone out Ill be back. Enjoy Sunday and any-day you can get out of the bed and walk.
