A child in the womb has, as we philosophers say, a teleological existence. That is, if left to the nature of the human process, it will in the fullness of days, providing we do not suck it out of natures incubator into an ignominious metal sink, a happy vital life that none of us could have created with our own hands. God has granted us a measure of rationality and we are the recipients of common grace----gifts that are so astounding as to be the marvels of the universe. The act of destruction we enact on these little ones for the sake of convenience or economic expedience reflects poorly on a malignant vision of the world that has dug its claws and bore its teeth at the notion that a sovereign God is on his throne-----governing His creation. To believe that we have the authority to destroy his works in a cavalier fashion is the height of exponential madness---and we shall one day see, if we remain unredeemed in spite of His mercy, the consequences of such a brutality. My friend, on that day, millstones will be hung.
