A clipping from Chapter 8 of: JACOB’S TROUBLE – THE LAST SIFTING OF ISREAEL The role of the Church in the drama at the threshold of the Messiah. By Lars Widerberg Seals opened, future to be revealed Heaven is a place in which books are opened. Heaven is a place where time is measured by eternal measurements. Heaven is a place which settles the course of history in the region called Earth. When the apostle John visited this place of otherness, he found one book sealed by seven seals – a book which could not be opened. His reaction to this predicament included tears. Ours ought to be of the same intensity, for the sake of a proper testimony. Knowing the protocol of Heaven and the purposes of the Lord secure prophetic testimony, it secures a revealing among men what the mind of Christ is like. This particular book, the sealed book, which no one could open, is of greatest importance in the process of the revealing of the Lamb. This book is indeed the book of the Lamb – it reveals the Lamb, which is slain for the redeeming of men and women of every nation, tribe and tongue. It reveals the ultimate divide between saints and the destroyers of the world. “Thou art worthy to take the book and to open the seals of it, for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and language, and people, and nation thou and hast made us to our God kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth. Rev 5:9-10 “When he opened the sixth seal, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood... The kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bond-man, and every free-man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains and they said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, For the great day of his wrath is come; and who will be able to stand?” Rev 6:15-17 God’s redemptive purposes are revealed as the seals of this book of the Lamb are broken. We are directed to the peculiar fact that these saints, among which we perhaps may see ourselves, are meant for priestly service and a reigning together with the Redeemer – the Lord of lords, who will sit on the throne of David forever. One more item of utter relevance is the fact that every earthly ruler will be, without uncertainty, aware of the imminence of the days of vengeance – and there will be no way escaping it, even if trying. The signs in the sky, which the Church of today is fascinated and stirred by, have no effect whatsoever on the ruling class of our societies. To put it bluntly; the spirituality and discernment of our rulers are of greater depth than the Church which boasts of its spiritual giftings. Preliminaries and core issues A conundrum, a superb difficulty is set before us all in the existence of the heavenly book with seven seals, which no man can open. Many wise and skilled expositors have tried various keys and approaches to no avail. Yet, rich blessings follows the plain man’s reading of the texts. The very fact that there is no way to open it, would call for cautiousness when systems are presented as the final solution to the riddle. Amidst necessary cautiousness, a few indicators are traceable which provide support as to certain timing as well as to personage and purpose. There is no picture more potent and sublime, of greater beauty and of greater significance – this author has to take a step forward to declare that seeing the Lamb, Jesus Christ, in this position with the scroll of finalization in His hand, is glory beyond glory, and I will sing together with them who sing “the new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals of it: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood”.
