A cold but sunny day proved the perfect time to reduce the previously cut brash in the car park down to a pile of ash. This will allow Mick Waller, along with his digger, to move the heaped spoil from one side of the car park to the other and in doing so create a larger area for parking. Some of the larger pieces of harvested gorse have been woven into the barbed wire boundary fence so as to protect any planted shrubs along this line. A young Pyracantha has already been planted there and the subsequent flowers and berries will benefit visiting insects and birds as well as becoming a secure hedge.
