A commemorative Congressional Gold Medal issue of the Civil Air - TopicsExpress

A commemorative Congressional Gold Medal issue of the Civil Air Patrol Volunteer is now available in digital format at capvolunteernow/cap_volunteer/. In addition to an eight-page cover story about Civil Air Patrol’s “Capitol Salute” in Washington, D.C., on December 10, there are features about many of our brave and heroic founding members who provided critical humanitarian, combat and national services during World War II. Some of the men and women featured in the January-March Volunteer were present last month when CAP received the Congressional Gold Medal, while others who have passed were represented by family. Many of their stories, as well as others of those involved in the war effort, are featured in the 80 pages of this special edition. It is Civil Air Patrol’s tribute to all who served so valiantly. Be sure to check out the news videos on pages 8, 42 and 58. Another one on page 34 was produced by a CAP member, Maj. Guilford Queen of the Maryland Wing. Other videos, including several generated by CAP National Historian Col. Frank Blazich for the WWII veterans’ Gala Dinner in Arlington, Va., are available at capgoldmedal/videos/. There is also a full-length video of the Congressional Gold Medal presentation ceremony at the Capitol.
