A comment on the Guardian FB page struck me. I just had to share it. Why are we getting so many young Muslim men radicalising? Probably something to do with being treated as aliens in the country of their birth...look at the unemployment statistics in south Asian youth. They have no prospects and are told they are not welcome - perfect candidates for some cult leader to come along and brain wash them. Exactly. Were treated like sh*t. Were treated as if we are inferior to others, because of the colour of our skin, because of our race and religion, and the Fascists always have the Hating Muslims isnt racist bs to fall back upon. Unemployment rates amongst British Asians are appalling-At around 20-30%. Were treated like scum in the country that we are born in. I have lived in England all of my life. This is my home. Yet I have been racially abused myself many times. In such a hostile environment, its no surprise that extremism has flourished. Politicians must address the root causes of Islamic Extremism, because the way in which minorities are treated, treated as 2nd class citizens, is perhaps the biggest issue, forcing desperate young men to turn to Radical Islam.
