A conversation between two trees. This is a parable. Hope you enjoy it. A thorn tree grew alongside an apple tree. As they grew, one produced apples and one produced thorns. The farmer who planted them lived far away and was never seen by them. One day the thorn tree said to the apple tree, I am an apple tree. The real apple tree was confused and even a bit irritated. You are not! Look, do you not see the thorns growing all over you. The thorn tree smugly responded, these are not thorns! They are apples. You do not know what you are talking about. About that time, several hawks landed on the trees. The apple tree said to them, that thorn tree thinks he is an apple tree. Why dont you talk some sense into him. Not knowing the hawks were friends with the thorn tree, they responded according. Whats wrong with you! Surely, he is an apple tree. The thorn tree grinned ear to ear. The hawks continued. In fact, you are the thorn tree! You got it all wrong Suddenly, the farmer walked by and overheard the conversation and when he tried to correct the thorn tree and hawks, they also ganged up on Him in their pride. Do you understand what this means? Heres the accompanying Bible verses. 1 John 1 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. Matthew 7 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Isaiah Chapter 5 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.
