A copy of The Invisible Man was later arrested and charged with 26 million counts of murder, 315 million counts of rape, and 6 billion counts of public indecency, the result of a decades-long international crime spree that included sarin gas attacks on defenseless villages, ethnic cleansing, drug murders, corruption, catastrophic bombings of public places where women and children were buying groceries at the time, several hundred coal mine collapses, 46 illegal wars, defunding of social programs that kept people alive, and corrupting the lives sweet little white teenagers in North Carolina. Doubtless many young children who read Invisible Man may never populate golf courses, or wear polo shirts, or think about how cool college football is relative to hooking up after the games.
