A couple Sundays ago my great Uncle died. He was my Fathers Uncle. I called him Great Uncle Napoleon, but his real name was Napalito del Rosario. At one point in his life he was a cook in the Navy. He talked like a sailor sometimes. I imagined him joining the U.S. Navy to get more opportunity in life like my father after him. When my brother and I were young, we would go to Silverspring, MD which is still D.C.....kind of. I remember him driving my family and I to the Smithsonian. I was always amazed, embarrassed, and excited to watch him drive in the Nations Capitols traffic .So many expletives under his breath and so many curses as loud as can be. He talked like a sailor sometimes. I imagined him joining the U.S. Navy to get more opportunity in life like my father after him. He was different variation of a del Rosario that I was around in Virginia Beach. I loved being around him. He had traveled around the world with his wife and his daughter. He knew when to share his opinion and he wasnt afraid to adapt in the thick of things. He had a beautiful house that reflected his experience. He is going to be missed very much. In the recent passing of a lot of great people who had left their mark on life, it made me reflect on my own life. It made me think of how fast life is. The earth rotates over a thousand miles and hour at the equator, that is 24,000 miles in 24 hours. It makes me think that life is physically going fast. No matter the pace of your city is in.It makes me think to swear and curse despite the silly signs in Virginia Beach tell you not to. Enjoy life, live in the now because it IS MOVING AT A RATE YOU cannot even see or feel. Gravity is holding you to the ground. Make at least one person smile a day and dont be afraid to express anything. Napoleon del Rosario, you were, what you were. Love you.
