A couple more very excellent pix from Dianne Latter, the first showing the rest of us at lunch, I really like this photo. The second shows what I guess is a volcanic vent on the side of the main crater. As far as I know this isnt a new vent but i dont recall seeing it on our last traverse eighteen months back. That may well be because we had a few pretty dirty weather periods during that traverse, maybe we just missed it in the cloud. Anyway this vent is something else. When standing in line with it one can see quite a long way into the wall of the crater and to look at it the vent is so symmetrical it looks man made. This is one of the most curious natural structures that Ive seen.
