A couple of things that have been on my heart: Ive stopped - TopicsExpress

A couple of things that have been on my heart: Ive stopped writing about my children/family. One day (or even today) they will read what I write or what I have written. The only things I want them to know, I need to say daily and live it out. For the rest, they can remain as unspoken words on this earth - and spoken prayers to my Father. Ive stopped accepting almost every single opportunity to advertise for a company. Why? Because no company is perfect and one day someone will want to advertise with me that I really can not support at all. Rather than deal with my beliefs or their beliefs in court, its easier to maintain a ministry than to become a statistic because people feel they need to tell others how to run their business. Ive stopped writing about homeschooling. Homeschooling will change every single day, month, and/or year in a family. As children grow, as parents grow, their needs, etc change. Change happens. Its been hurtful for my heart to see people run after an idea or idealogue on a blog that seems to have everything perfect in their home only for the writer to turn around and say - oh, we really hated this past year. And then the readers are left with at least a little gratitude that what seemed to be working for that blogger wasnt working for them, so they arent a loser mom/family after-all. I can share my experiences. I can share knowledge and wisdom I have gained. I can never give anyone full answers to their problems or anything in their life. I can only share what Ive witnessed and have learned. I can share truth that is in the Bible. I can share little bits and pieces of my life. I can not sell my family or my children out in a way that could cause more harm. I received a bit of advice from a friend a couple of years ago. She said If you have to write about something that happened with you and another person, always, always make yourself out to be the bad guy. Theres so much wisdom in that. I have logs in my eyes and pieces of a broken life that only God can heal. Every moment, every word (spoken or written) will impact someone. If my desire is to glorify God, I need to make sure that anyone I impact sees Him, not me and definitely never, ever places me above another person. Remember, sweet friends - your words (spoken and written) have power. Use them wisely.
