A couple of things to ask of my fb friends tonight: First, (and I am sure you are sick of me posting about this, but I need to do it, because 3 little lives are depending on me) if you could cross post any of my posts/pics/videos of our kittens needing homes, I would so appreciate it (and a HUGE THANK YOU to those who have done this already!). Second, here are the bare-bones details on the family we were paired with: A local Saranac family with two kids under the age of 3. The 3 year old boy has a severe medical issue that requires a lot of time in the hospital. The family cannot afford Christmas. We have the food and toys covered- this is Aarons and my Christmas present to each other. What we could use some help with is gift cards to give to the parents so they can use them for anything they might need for themselves or their family, and give them some dignity to go shopping for things they might want. If you could be so kind as to reach into your pocket and purchase a gift card to an area restaurant or to Meijer or Walmart, I promise you, you will not regret it. We let the family know that what they are being gifted with is from a large group of people who care. We leave with them a Christmas card full of the gift cards and instruct them to not open it until after we leave. This is our 3rd year doing this, it is a really great thing making a strangers familys Christmas be something to not stress out about. Thank you to all who have helped in the past and thank you to those are willing to help now. :)
