A coworker forwarded everyone in the office this image as an email attachment she allegedly received from a friend, which is simultaneously the best and worst email forward I have ever received. Skeptical analysis, activate! [Image is of photo of letter printed on white letter paper, which has creases as though it had been folded in quarters. Begin transcript:] I received the following email from a friend who is associated with a man who is a state patrol on duty in Ferguson. [word blotted out] As far as ferguson goes, this is about whats about to take place and the measures that are going to be put into place. DO NOT GO OUT OF ARNOLD when this is released. Look for it either this Sunday or the next. However, the National Guard is here.......so it could be this weekend. Just trust me, DO NOT GO OUT OF JEFFERSON COUNTY. I mean that. South County is a hot spot. The National Guard has already reserved 100 rooms in a hotel downtown. They have already placed blockers on cell towers because they are shutting down cell service in hot spot areas (with a certain mile radius from each hotspot) to cancel all communications between those who are causing the riots/disobedience/chaos. Air travel above those areas will be closed as well. The bridge to St. Charles will be shut down as well as bridges to Illinois, private schools have already put plans into place. Business and schools in those areas will be closed. They are telling people to have 2-3 days worth of food and water because local stores will either be looted or will be unable to get shipments in, people are going to freak out and clear the shelves to be prepared, so make sure you have food at home now [word blotted out], (this isnt just going to affect Missouri). This is real. And its going to get bad. Just STAY in Jefferson County!!! If its not released this Sunday, it will be the next. But its one of the two. Im not trying to freak anyone out, but this is real information. People need to be prepared. [End transcript.] I just... where to even begin?
