A defining moment for Black America- one of the most significant symbolic gestures of the civil rights, or more accurately, the black pride movement, sometimes referred to as Black Separatist movement, or Black Panther Party, as this is the Black Power Salute of The Black Panther Political Party, and the bowed heads were for the shame of white Americas actual and institutional racism of the day; It was a proud moment for all free thinking equalitarians of all races, I remember that moment like it was yesterday(1968 Summer Olympics), but the same racism that existed then exist today, where ever there is opposition to Affirmative Action, or support for voter redistricting, etc, most all of these racist policies are not only fully supported by most political conservatives,i.e., republican bigots, but these racist reprobate republicans create new and more subtle racist policies and laws, targeting black voters and black people in general, the new Jim Crow laws!
