A fan writes: Do you take Fan Questions? I am brand new to this group and Im hoping to become A LOT more informed on the topic of RIC. I am 33 weeks pregnant with baby #2, a little boy this time (I have an 18 month old daughter). Up until very recently I had NO CLUE that there was a huge group of people in the world that dont believe in infant circumcision. I have always thought it was just part of life and never even questioned it, that is until now. I live in an area that it is UNHEARD OF for a male to not be circumcised. Based on my own feelings, and what little research I have already done I have decided NOT to get my son circumcised. Now here is my problem, being that I live in such a (to put it as nicely as I can) simple minded community, I know Im going to have some issues with people not understanding/supporting my decision. I have not even told my fiance (who is circumcised) what I have decided for fear that he will not back me up. I have not told any family or friends either. Here is what I need from yall...... I need some advice on how to handle this situation since NO ONE I know has been through this. How should I go about letting people know what I have decided? Or should I just not say anything and if someone asks I can just tell the truth and have info to back up my decision? I would also like some reputable sources to get information from so I can share with these people who will not be so supportive of this decision. I would like to add that I do breastfeed as well.
