A few memories of the past days. Last wednesday after my presentations for the royal geographic society I spoke for the royal society of asian affairs. There I met with currently serving and retired diplomats, uk ambassadors and other fascinating people. Afterwards I travelled to dundee for the mountain festival where I showed my full film series and afterwards was guided around the Discovery ship- the original boat from 1901 that Robert Scott commanded to Antarctica. Finally, i drove up to elgin on the north coast to spend time with old family friends the coopers. I managed a small hike up ben rinnes, some haggis and whiskey before getting back on the plane to london from inverness. Am now on my way to Cambridge University where I will be talking tonight! For anyone interested I will also be at waterstones Cambridge for signing at 1pm.
