A few of my pictures from the NC Mtns over the past few days. Color not quite as good this year as recent years. Not as much orange and red. More Yellow and brown. Still, any day is a good day in the mountains. We did find a great spot Jeffress Park for a picnic on Friday. This is on the parkway a couple miles north of US 421. The other shots were taken south of US 421 on the parkway near Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mtn and one down at Linville Falls. Last but not least, a picture of a soap dispenser. Around 2002 or 2003, I visited Linville Falls and found NO SOAP in the bathroom. I called the Blue Ridge Parkway to complain. 2 weeks passed and no one had called back. Then I got a call from an official with the park. He said they had confirmed my concern and were going to install a soap dispenser. Now you can wash your hands after going to the rest room there.
