A few of you know that we have had huge issues with schooling for Eliza over the past few weeks... the idea of doing an IEP 6 weeks into school starting is just ridiculous Eliza has spent the last 5 weeks doing nothing no wonder she hates going to school... It is becoming heartbreakingly obvious that the gaps are starting to show within our education system there is no middle ground ... unfortunately we have discovered that there is really no place that Eliza fits perfectly.. Mainstream is just so hard to get everyone on the same page and to understand that every disability is not the same and Eliza is a huge exception to the rule, her physical limitations are huge but she has the ability to be able to learn if the program is done the right way .... then after looking at Timsbury School she sort of fits but not really again she doesnt have an intellectual disability but watching the staff work with the children it becomes obvious that they love what they do and they are there because they choose to work in this industry... Its looking like we will have to dual school Eliza to get the best for her an education at Ogilvie and access to Music, Swimming, Cooking, Gardening in a accessible environment... We cant make any changes as yet because of Elizas upcoming surgery because she will need 4 months off to recover hopefully after that we can begin with getting her back to school slowly
