A few people have been asking what I am doing in the lab.. The broad area of interest is the effect of biological pathways related to the Central nervous system and peripheral tissues that influence food intake, nutrient absorption and storage and metabolism and energy expenditure. The project I am currently working on is based on a physiological pathway called the endocannabinoid system (ECS) . Research into the area is fairly new and exciting (IMO haha). The mechanisms and actions of the system are still relatively unknown but there is growing data regarding the involvement of the ECS in appetite regulation, adipose tissue biology, glucose metabolism, lipogenesis and their dis regulation in an obese state. It is keeping me fairly busy!! So I am sorry for the drop in posts x
