A few people have mentioned to us that they feel dejected because the water meter installers have managed to get the meters in outside their properties. Its worth repeating that blocking the installation of water meters is only ONE part of the opposition to being doubly taxed for water. While its important to stand up and resist the meters being put in as it sends a signal of intent to the government that were opposed to the tax, there are several other parts to the campaign. Another way to show your protest is to not engage with IW - do not complete the application form or send it back. Its OK to return to sender if you wish but do not give any details whatsoever. The next MONUMENTALLY important thing you can do, is make sure you and everyone you know who is opposed to the charges gets in to the national demonstration in town on Sat 11th October. This is the biggest opportunity weve got to come together as a nation to say that we want water charges scrapped! The bigger the number, the more the government cannot ignore the wishes of the people. So please put the date in your diary and commit to going. Dont leave it to everyone else to do it on your behalf - your voice IS vitally important and your participation could have historic results. Water charges were defeated in the 90s, they can be again! The final phase of the campaign is boycott. If hundreds of thousands of people refuse together to pay AGAIN for water - and hold the line of boycott - we really have a great chance of defeating these unjust charges. Its time to stand together NOW!!!
