A few things. • as a staunch atheist, I place all religions on the same stool: intellectual brainwashing, manipulation of the emotionally vulnerable, and para-moral excuses for massacres. Islam is now the bête noire, but dont think for one second that Christianity fares any better in human history. • Bill Maher represents whats wrong in the American left: parronizing while ignorant, pedantic while inaccurate, and domineering while wrongful. I dont care what his politics are: this is hate speech, and has no place on an agenda claiming to be progressive. • third point: if we isolate the concept of terrorism / political violence as being only one specific fringe of a specifically identified part of the population, not only are we encouraging the scourge that is ethnic violence, but we are missing the point of fighting radicalism entirely.
