A few years ago Mendell and I were enjoying having the time and being physically able to travel a little. We really felt very priviledged to have the funds to go out West on 4 different wonderful trips. We saw things we had never seen and made many unforgettable memories. Then 4 years ago our retirement travels were interrupted with a cancer diagnosis. I will not bore my friends and family with details but we began a difficult and frieghtening journey of tests and more tests, surgeries, hospitals,and finally chemo. Mendell has fought a fierce battle and has been so very brave. We are not done yet but God has given us hope through encouraging friends and family, And a few weeks ago as I was at the St. Francis cancer clinic in West Ashley, waiting with Mendell to finish his chemo treatment, I discovered a wonderful garden in the wooded area there. What a blessing it has been. I walk through and find the peace and enjoy the beauty God has given us to enjoy in this world. When we get lemons...make lemonade...who knew traveling to a cancer clinic could offer such a peaceful rest for my soul. To God be the glory. Enjoy pictures. .
