A fine Footsteps walk up on Bewick Moor today, some great views of the Northumberland Coast from Cateran Hill, then we descended underground into Caterans Hole, a secret cave, hidden deep in the heather. Blawearie, the deserted and romantic ruined farm high on the moor was our lunch stop, before we visited both hill forts, the amazing Bronze Age burial cairn and finally the cup and ring rocks, perhaps the oldest feature on this dramatic and remote Northumberland moor.
