A first stab at definitions - Realm – a realm is an officially recognized chapter of a medieval organization (in Dragon Coast’s case the Dagorhir Battle Games Association (DBGA)). Per DBGA, a chapter “is defined as any group that holds Dagorhir events for its membership and is recognized by DGBA under the terms of this [the Dagorhir Chapter] Contract.” A Dagorhir realm has a responsibility to run its affairs in accordance with the terms of the Dagorhir Chapter Contract. Dragon Coast is a Dagorhir realm. Stronghold – a stronghold is a sub-division of the realm that has been officially recognized by Dragon Coast. The stronghold holds regularly scheduled practices at a defined location. There are currently three strongholds in Dragon Coast: Serpent Springs (Coral Springs), Hollow Fell (Boca), and Guardians by the Bay (Tampa). Noxterra (West Palm) is currently in a trial phase. Unit – a unit is a group of people who camp and/or fight together at events. A unit is an unofficial organization that has no direct role in the government of the realm (it has no votes), although members of units can also be members of strongholds and therefore have the right to participate in stronghold and realm government. A unit can be as organized or as desired by the membership. The realm will not interfere in unit administration. The following types of units are possible: • A unit may span beyond the borders of the realm. (example: Atlantis spans multiple realms). • A unit may be confined to the realm or even to a single stronghold. • Multiple units may co-exist at a single stronghold.
