A fool despised his fathers instruction but he that regarded - TopicsExpress

A fool despised his fathers instruction but he that regarded reproof is prudent (Proverb 15:5) Many of us give ears to the instructions of a man who is our parent (father) but, oftentimes, we do not really look inward to check the prototype definition giving to the word father. The prototype definition of a father is somebody who has a level of quality, a level of excellence, a standard that is accepted as the norm, not necessarily blood related, age related or all other great qualities of our biological father but some of it. What is most important is that he has a level of excellence, a level of standard, a level of intelligence like the original (our father); that is accepted as the norm in the society not necessarily accepted by you or me as an individual. In this category, we have husband, boss, founder, friend etc. The most important point here is not despising the instruction of the people who fall in the prototype group but giving regards to their reproof. Reproof should be seen by us has a strength and not a weakness, a positive clue and not negative clue. The moment we shift focus on what this great, insightful and promise driven signal is meant to do in our life, business, career, relationship, family, love etc to the source of the signal (person/prototype father) and do not give regard to the reproof, then we stop being prudent. Father we pray that in you grant us understanding and grace to work in this wisdom all the day of our life. Good morning friends and have a wonderful weekend.
