A topic for debate or comment. How many people on my friends list ask every business they have dealings with for a straight up discount? I ask because I dont walk into shops or call trades-people and ask for discounts. I ask for prices or quotes. I get so many calls asking if I will discount, or do a package deal, or give the service for an amount of dollars the guys can rake together. As a service provider that provides fair pricing (advertised prices with full disclosure of fees; no hidden travel fees) it can come across as highly offensive behaviour. Its an epidemic! And worse when people call last minute at 3am in the morning repeatedly over and over when it is obvious that the business has closed for the evening. Im curious as to why so many consumers are of the belief that service providers are awake dusk to dawn and ready to take spur of the moment bookings at discounted prices with delivery within the hour? And, then being asked to refer a competitors number if the consumers demands cannot be exactly met???????
