(( A friend of mine at school wanted to know if ‘Burma is still called Myanmar, then why isn’t Siam still called Thailand?’ Well, friend of mine, whose name I will name ‘Ericka’. Note that this does not have to do with any Erica, Erika, or any other Erickas. This specific Ericka is Filipino and goes to the same school as me. Moving on. Okay. Burma is still called Myanmar because Burma hadn’t died yet. Fortunate for them. As for Thailand… Siam died already. Yes, that’s true. Some people know my page of Siam. But yeah, going back, it’s true. Siam has no trace within Thailand whatsoever. But neither are some of Siam’s kingdoms. Thonburi is kind of dead. But Thonburi was technically merged with Bangkok, so Thonburi’s still alive. Ayutthaya kingdom is dead. But Ayutthaya still has its name in a province. So Ayutthaya is alive as well. And same for some other kingdoms. Still. Siam’s gone kaput. Its been official since Siam was renamed Thailand. ))
