A friend of mine found a cat. Im encouraging her to take her to a vet to be scanned for a chip, but now she is afraid to because someone told her this: Be REALLY careful before you take her to be scanned. As of Jan 1st 2013, personal property laws in CO changed and if you have animal scanned and doesnt have a chip, technically they can make you turn the animal over to animal control for 7 days and then the animal is placed for adoption. Otherwise you can be accused of stealing. Is there any truth to this?
