A friend of mine stopped to help a lady who had a car pulling a U-haul. She apparently ran out of gas. She had a sign asking for help. Several gave her money. My friend offered to get her gas. When she started the car, miraculously she had a full tank. She said--I guess I dont need your help--the other guy must have filled it. She then proceeded to drive away. Was she from Scam University or Legit...I guess well never know. Although, my friend said someone told him that she saw the same women at a different part of town the day before--same set of circumstances. There is a guy who I have seen several times who has his entire family with him. He has a sign saying he is out of work. While I am not judging whether he is legit...I think bringing your teenaged kids would be embarrassing and maybe humiliating to them. I wouldnt do it. What have your experiences been--locally? Some businesses ask the people to leave the premises.
