A friend of ours who was born and raised in Fairview, NC but who now lives elsewhere wrote the following: Not to start drama on FB...but its right here in our own backyard. We dont have to tell our children, think of all those starving kids in Africa, eat your food... Maybe it was because of a child we gave a food box to today that told me as we were playing on the bus that they had ran out of food two days ago and now she had something to eat... We form our concepts of local / American hunger from previous generations, family opinions, political opinions, religious beliefs and personal experience. But we are rarely in a position to see the larger picture. Todays picture. Heres an article that gives us that perspective.
