A friend shared this poem with me. Passing it on, coz it is brilliant ! I AM THE I IN INDIA The day I was born in this country, This country was also born in me I can feel it running through my guts, when I am angry And throbbing through my veins when I am glad I am India and India is me I am the system that doesnt work I am the pothole on the road that doesnt get filled I am the FIR that doesnt get filed I am the bridge that doesnt get built Everything thats wrong with this country starts with me And will soon end with me I AM INDIA AND INDIA IS ME. ................ Changing your DP to the tricolor may make u a patriot (though I am not sure how) but what u can actually do is - CARE. CARE for your country in small little ways, if not in huge contributions. We see people spitting & trashing the roads and then complaining that the municipalities are useless, foreign countries are much cleaner ... We see men leching at women on roads and then saying - is desh ke mardon ka kuch nahi ho sakta (Did u try to stop this from happening when u witnessed any such thing?) ... We see only complains, in small small issues. But we seldom see people trying to fix these on their own... We all need to remember - The I in India stands for you, as an individual. Care for your nation ... it never hurts !
