A friend shared this story and I wanted to share it with all of you. A few weeks ago my father was told he had what appeared to be a cancerous growth in his colon. He was scheduled for surgery immediately and subsequently spent 6 hours in the OR. He came out ok and the test results came back negative. It was a blessing indeed! My parents were supposed to have arrived here in Canada to visit us 2 days ago. Their trip has been postponed. The scare and the reality of cancer is affecting everyone. It is on the rampant increase. I am grateful that my dad was given a reprieve, it was caught early. How many people out there are not so fortunate? How many people unnecessarily go through the diagnosis, the treatment and then the painful, sometimes slow, downward spiral, leaving behind a young family, young kids, friends... Folks, you only live once, you only have one body! Some might get a second chance, many only seemingly get a second chance. Get healthy, get the right nutrition, get educated. Dont think it wont affect you, it will...somehow! You have a choice so make the right one! How many kids are losing a parent, maybe even a sibling to cancer?
