I have been quiet for a couple of days, was invited to go duck - TopicsExpress

I have been quiet for a couple of days, was invited to go duck hunting in Elton, LA, took advantage of it and also it is the Christmas Season so have been enjoying, reflecting, and remembering seasons past. All of that is now gone for this year and was sitting this rainy Saturday morning reading the Wall Street Journal and on the front page is an article about Christianity in Europe. Over the years Janie and I have been blessed to travel to Europe more than once and each time there church buildings were always on our list of sites to visit and admire. The beauty of their architecture is really a site to see! As you know there is a great movement in our Country right now for us to become more like Europe! Our leader talks about it every time he opens his mouth and there is no denying the influence of European culture upon the USA! HOLLYWOOD has a bad case of it and America most of the time is the cause of all bad that is going on in this world. It seems from this article about Christianity in Europe that it is close to nonexistent? Certainly we know this isnt true but Europe HAS become so secularized that the beautiful churches do not have enough members to keep them in operation!! So they are up for sale at prices the Catholic church cant afford to sell but they are in a terrible fix!!! Some are being turned into scate halls for kids and others are being left to deteriorate!! SECULARISM has caught up with the religious crowd it seems!!! Is this what we want in America???? I think not but are we not falling for the european way?? Will we soon see that a church is no longer needed in a community? Like me, you probably are thinking: This could never occur in the USA? For those of us who have been here for a season, we can look back and know we are running in that direction!! Just maybe an awakening will occur before it is too late!!
