A frustrating morning after the discovery someone stole some checks that were recently mailed, altered them and they were deposited fraudulently yesterday. Thankfully it doesnt impact my business majorly, the money will be returned and we dont have to change our bank account number immediately so as not to impact payroll, but a fraud report will have to be filed and notarized in person, with the possibility of a police report as well. Ive had credit cards stolen or cloned before, but never had anything like this happen with a bank account. Feels different, more invasive. And its just a big time suck. Hey, at least its not HELLISHLY hot anymore!
