A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (Mark 4:37-39 NIV). It wasnt until today that I saw the significance of the question “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”. If Jesus was only a teacher why do the disciples go to him? Maybe for a quick question on what happens when they drown, by no means. They go to Jesus because they know he can do something. What they witnessed next they were not prepared for. So my question is if Jesus is truly God can you afford to write him off as just a mere teacher?
