A good day today. Veterans Day Parade in Pittsfield with the Riders, followed by the laying of the wreath at the Vietnam War Memorial in Park Square. A quick bite to eat at Legion Post 68, then off to Sugarhill to visit with veterans there to present them with shirts lauding their service. One of them departed Pearl Harbor two days before the surprise attack. They were ordered to return. He left a harbor full of ships to return to devastation. Amazing the stories amidst us!! We then left for Berkshire Medical Center for the same purpose. There I met a veteran who was very appreciative for our visit. During the conversation I learned his family was in the Philippines caught up in the typhoon tragedy that just occurred. Fortunately they were all well... He was counting his blessings in spite of the tragedy. Makes you appreciate for what you have all the more!!!!
