A government bureaucrat needs to hire a contractor for repairing a leak in a government building. He is interviewing three contractors for the job . . one from Asheville, North Carolina, one from Atlanta, Georgia, and one from Chicago, Illinois. “How much is this job going to cost me?” asks the bureaucrat. “I can do it for three hundred dollars, parts and labor” says the Georgia man. “I can beat that hands down,” says the North Carolina contractor, “I can get this job done easily for $200.00 . . . and I’ll do just as good a job as this Georgia boy here if not better.” While the Georgia contractor and North Carolina Contractor are exchanging angry scowls . . . the bureaucrat looks to the Chicago guy, who has an obnoxious smirk on his face. “How much will you charge me, sir?” “Six Thousand and Two Hundred Dollars.” “WHAT!!!!” Replies the bureaucrat . . “That is insane!!!! Where the heck did you come up with that kind of sum!!!” “Simple,” replies the Chicago native . . . “three thousand for you, three thousand for me, and two hundred dollars for the guy from North Carolina to actually get the job done.”
