A guy commented on this video saying if we didnt have a throw away society there wouldnt be enough jobs for everybody. We currently have a culture where more than half of the able bodied workers stay home instead of work. That means of the ten homes around me 6 of them likely wont work even though they can. Does this guy really think innovation would have just sent everyone to their graves? Great wagons lasted a long time but perfect wagons did not leave the car from being innovated. Perfect mathematicians did not stop the computer from being created. Quality lead to being more innovative. What has a throw away society created? We have a rising generation who no longer knows how the things they use everyday work. Innovation comes from elite people who study them day to day; no more Eli Whitneys. It halts progress. This is why distopian futures are so popular. It helps us cope with the fear that the next generation wont be able to hand even their own knowledge to the generation that survives them. Makes me wonder how far did the world fall from an antediluvian flood.
