A guy next to us at Starbucks was talking about completely inappropriate things in front of several children and Jade gently said excuse me sir can you not talk like that in front of my sister? The guy then gave Jade the finger. As he was leaving he tripped and wiped out in front of about 30 people... Jade didnt laugh or anything like everyone else standing there. He ran over and tried to help the guy up instead saying are you ok sir? The guy just stared rudely. I was speechless. When Jade came back I asked him why he did it and he said thats happened to me before and its embarrassing The fact that my child so quickly forgot the actions of someone against him to turn around and lend a hand of help was such a lesson to me. How often do we hold onto negative feelings much longer than we should? It was a matter of mins between the emotions of anger and compassion for Jade and he chose in the moment to put the negative ones aside to show kindness to a fellow human. I am one proud Moma to have a child who is an example to not only his sister, but also to me.
