A healthy landscape actually requires less water than you may - TopicsExpress

A healthy landscape actually requires less water than you may think. With the drought here in North Texas it is extremely important to conserve water. The mantra has been twice a week or less, one inch of water a week - but did you know that that includes rainfall? Keeping up with when and how much it rains can be a hassle, so the North Texas Municipal Water District and Texas A&M Agrilife Extension created Water My Yard, a tool that tells you not only when to water, but how much to water based on current temperature and rainfall measurements. You simply select your location on the map, select what type of sprinkler system you are using, and provide your email address to start receiving emails that tell you when and how long you need to water your lawn. Easy! Even in these hot, dry months you will be surprised how little you actually need to water to keep your yard green and healthy. Visit watermyyard.org to get started! Supported cities include: Garland, Mesquite, Richardson, Rowlett, Rockwall, Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Farmersville, Forney, Terrell, and Kaufman.
