A heartfelt thank you. It is now a month since Laurie was murdered and we are still numbed in disbelief, as I am sure you all are as well. We would like to thank all our family, neighbours and friends who have cheered the house with their presence, hugs, flowers and food. We would also like to thank the hundreds of you who have sent cards, not to mention the 500-plus of you who came from all over Australia (and a number from overseas) to attend his funeral. It was a wonderful send-off to Laurie and start of his and our next projects. We would also like to thank those who are contributing to the fund-raiser to bring our family together at this time, and to Negative Camber for helping Maggie Halowell, Bobby and Crash join us from the USA. Thanks as well go to the thousands who have signed his RIP page and the tens of thousands of followers of the Chop Shop who have connected with us. A special thank you goes to Joe Webb for his brilliant artwork on Laurie’s casket. Joe remarked that, “this was the hardest piece I have ever done”. And we’d also like to extend a big thank you to those who spoke at the funeral – for holding it all together, giving us tears, a smile and a laugh: Laurie’s style coming through! His life represented his special values and standards, along with boundless encouragement for those who are (or are trying) to do the right thing and do it better. Let’s keep our faith in honesty, commitment and quality. Let’s keep pushing boundaries through clever ideas and adding those extra, thoughtful and elegant touches of style that will bring out smiles of satisfaction and appreciation to our work, be it with our colleagues, friends or families.
