A huge THANK YOU going out to THE DOG STREET JOURNAL .. find them on facebook .. for their very generous donation last night ... Ok now lets get this last bit in .. just another $200 to go to reach our target now .. we can do it folks !!!!!!!!!!! Please also continue to keep a generous supporter in your prayers too as they have some worrying health issues to get looked into We all get so fed up of seeing dogs dumped and abused every day on facebook .. well heres another chance for everyone to help me support and thank this family who have been through so much but still kept their 2 little dogs . My friend has also cared for his learning disabled brother and for much o9f the time his elderly father too whilst going through a nightmare none of us could even imagine . They lost their home 7 years ago and have lived with constant fear and worry and misery and dispair since then . For part of most months during that 7 years they have had to spend weeks at a time living in their car on the streets , even following his father having surgery for bowel cancer which left him with a colostomy bag During this 7 years I have been there for my friend no matter what they have had to face via the internet and phone from the Uk . Many times I was the only person that cared about them , they never heard much from what few family and friends they had left and they felt so alone . Lots of times it felt like my friend was falling into a million pieces with the worry and stress of it all and I was the gaffer tape holding him together .. helping him face yet another miserable day of despair when all he wanted was to get out of this horrible life once and for all . Especially since his dad died in 2012 , hes often wanted more than anything to just leave this life and be with his dad again .. but he has also known that his brother needs him and his 2 little dogs need him and that and the support Ive been able to give ... with help from all of you now .. has kept him hanging in there . My friend always tries so hard for his family and 2 little dogs ... very often going without himself so they have what they need . When his father became ill at the start of April 2012 .. my friend was the only one he had to monitor his care . He also had to take care of his brothers needs and his 2 little dogs but spent most of every day of the 3 months his father was ill at his bed side making sure he had all he needed , only leaving to see to his brother and dogs or to go spend long nights worrying about how they would cope if his dad didnt make it . sadly at the end of June his dad lost his long battle and died .. leaving my friend and his brother heartbroken and devastated .. and that is still how my friend feels today too ... over a year later . One Christmas during the time they had to spend in the car , they didnt make it back to the hotel room . I waited and waited into the early hours of the morning for him to come online , but it wasnt to be . That Christmas eve it was so hard to go to bed .. i opened the door and just couldnt go upstairs , it seemed so wrong me having a nice warm bed and getting up to presents followed by a big dinner surrounded by all the family happy and smiling . I had to come back and leave a message for him telling him all this even though i knew he probably wouldnt be able to read it .. only then was I able to go to bed and try and do what i knew hed want me to ... try and have a nice xmas myself ... that seemed so impossible though . When they got back I also learnt that due to high demand the church they went to for food handouts had closed early too and they had nothing to eat over the holidays either . That was when I made myself a promise that never would they have another Christmas like that one .. I wouldnt let it happen . It was the following year as the holidays were approaching that after a lot of persuasion on my part I did my first fund raiser for them . My friend was adamant that no names were used or addresses or location given out . I have always respected this because I know how terrified he is that if the authorities found he was having to beg from others and had to live on his brothers benefit and nothing else then they would take his brother into care and he would lose him . After that first one I did others to help them have a room over other holiday periods and after his dad died did one every month because it took until the following October for them to get his brothers benefit paid regularly again as it had to all be recalculated . As their old car was running so badly by now that they hardly dare drive it even a couple of miles and as the events of recent months had taken such a toll on them both and they were struggling to keep going I carried the fund raisers on aqs I was very very worried about what would happen if they lost the hotel room with the car not really being a feasible option now . THANK YOU TO EVERYONES GENEROUS SUPPORT WEVE MANAGED TO KEEP THEM SAFE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW ... SOME SUPPORT THEY HAVE RECEIVED HAS BEEN SO AMAZING AND EVERY DOLLAR DONATED IS SO APPRECIATED BY US ALL ... HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT HAS HELPED US ACHIEVE THIS AND PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU ALL , TRY AND HELP ME SUPPORT THIS FAMILY THROUGH ANOTHER WORRYING MONTH ..
