A key trail for hikers accessing the Bruneau River from the east - TopicsExpress

A key trail for hikers accessing the Bruneau River from the east side of the canyon rim experienced a collapse of the rock retaining wall supporting the trail in 2011. That segment of the trail has continued to slough off, creating a safety hazard to visitors accessing the canyon. To excavate the segment of trail to firm footing and reconstruct the retaining wall using rock on site and native backfill materials, the Jarbidge Field Office partnered with the Sawtooth National Forest and the Boise District BLM wilderness rangers to repair this section of trail; they finished this project in one day, all of it by hand.
