A large group gathered at the Ceylon Covered Bridge on Sunday afternoon for the release of this Great Horned Owl. The owl had been struck by a car in Fort Wayne and then nurtured back at a professional facility in Fort Wayne. It could have been released several weeks ago, but was kept inside because the snow cover would have made it difficult to find its prey. Following the release, the lady who released it said to me, God tells them exactly what to do and guides them to their freedom. What a beautiful analogy of how Christ sets us free from the restraints of the world around us as He receives us into His safe arms, just as the owl flew right to the tree. It reminds of the old hymn, Glorious freedom, wonderful freedom, no more in chains of sin I repine. Jesus, the glorious emancipator, now and forever He will be mine.
