Choral Arts mourns the loss of John Doar, who passed away yesterday. In January 2009, Congressman John Lewis presented Doar with the Choral Arts Humanitarian Award, saying: John Doar was more than a lawyer, more than a federal officer, he was a representative of a higher law and a higher power who risked his life for the cause of civil rights and social justice in America. This man, this great civil servant, represents the kind of decency and integrity that has made this the most powerful nation on earth...
